Dr. Shooja is a Senior Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist with work experience of 20+ years in India, USA and the UAE. After medical school graduation from Mysore Medical College, India, she went on to do her Diploma in Child Health from JJM Medical College, Davangere India. She also took up a research assistant post at St Luke's Hospital, Pennsylvania, USA. The research was to find a vaccine for liver tumours which enhanced her interest in Immunology. She continued her paediatric and neonatal training at St Joseph's Children's Hospital, New Jersey, USA to complete her American Board of Pediatrics certification.
Her patients are from newborns to 16 years of age, high risk hospital admissions and outpatient cases. She can see Arabic speaking patients with the help of a translator. Teaching medical students has also always been an integral part of my career.
