Dr. Dhanaliwala commenced her Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in India in 2001 and continued it in the UK from 2005. She entered the RCOG training programme in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2007. After completing her core training as a specialty registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, she began her Advanced Training Skills Module (higher specialty registrar) in Subfertility and Reproductive Health and Advanced Labour Ward Practice in the tertiary hospitals at Derby and Nottingham, UK in 2013.
Dr. Dhanaliwala's general Obstetrics and Gynaecology experience includes management of obstetric and gynaecological emergencies, basic and advanced surgical skills in open and laparoscopic surgery including minor gynaecological surgeries, hysterectomy, hysteroscopy, and various laparoscopic procedures such as salpingectomy, ovarian cystectomy etc. She also manages women with menstrual disorders, urogynaecological problems, subfertility and women with gynaecological malignancies up to the point of specialist referral. She also provides antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care to women including ultrasound. She is proficient in conducting vaginal deliveries including vaginal breech deliveries, performing caesarean sections including higher order caesarean sections, for placenta praevia and at extreme prematurity, instrumental vaginal deliveries (both ventouse and forceps deliveries) and repairing perineal tears. She also counsels women on various contraceptive choices.
