Summary
Dr. Abuhaleeqa has 20 years’ experience in the medical field, with more than 10 in his subspeciality of plastic ophthalmic and reconstructive surgery.
He is a board certified and fellowship trained consultant ophthalmologist, having earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1998. He completed his internship and became member of the Medical Association in Ireland the following year. Dr Abuhaleeqa received his Ophthalmology residency training at the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. He also has completed three fellowship programmes, one in Oculoplastics, Strabismus and Neuro-ophthalmology from the University of Toronto and the other fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from McMaster University, Hamilton. The third fellowship was in Ophthalmic and Orbital Oncology. Dr Abuhaleeqa has speciality certification and fellowship designation from the Royal College of Surgeons in Canada. He is the first UAE citizen with speciality in these fields.
He is General Secretary for The Emirates Society of Ophthalmology. He is currently accepting appointments for patients needing services in plastic, ophthalmic and reconstructive surgery, including cosmetic and aesthetic procedures, lacrimal system disorders, orbital trauma, neuro-ophthalmology and ophthalmic oncology.
