Mediclinic service terms and conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to specific dealings, test and analytical services provided by Mediclinic’s Laboratory to Etihad clients. Please read this document carefully before ordering any Service from Us. You should understand that by ordering any of our Services you agree to be bound by these T&C and all transactions with us for laboratory services are and will be governed by them, to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions you may purport to apply.
Mediclinic Middle East provides high quality healthcare services to patients in the UAE through its highly qualified clinical team. Laboratory testing services are conducted under strict confidentiality of all client information. We will execute confidentiality agreements prior to conducting any test
Mediclinic undertakes to treat all patient information as confidential, and will only use the confidential information for the purpose of test performance and report generation. Mediclinic shall not use the confidential information other than is necessary to perform the testing obligations.
Mediclinic will have the authority to disclose confidential information where it is required to do so by law, regulations or any governmental or competent regulatory authority (including any security exchange), provided that, to extent reasonably practicable, Mediclinic shall consult in advance with Etihad/Etihad’s client, the content and the purpose of the disclosure
By placing an order with us, the client (You/your) warrant that:
- You are legally capable of entering into binding contracts
- You are at least 18 years old
Clients are required to pay the full amount before testing can be initiated to ensure all processes are followed to allow for accurate and timely results
Clients will have access to our online payment portal and can make contactless swift and convenient payments at the time of registration
The fee schedule is in agreement with Etihad and include priority collection and turnaround services, extraordinary handling, and safety measures. Revisions to USP and other standards may affect test procedures, and consequently test fees, at any time. All fees are subject to change without notice.
Fees for tests and home swab collections will not be refunded once the service has been initiated.
Our collection service times are (8:30hrs to 19:30hrs, 7 days a week).We try to accommodate occasional special requests; on special occasions outside these timings we will try to meet client expectation at an additional charge.
Client details including copy of valid identify (EMIRATES ID/ PASSPORT AND VISA COPY) are obtained upon registration and collection tubes and request forms are pre-prepared for the patient to ensure correct identification process. Client identity will be checked on site prior to sample collection against the supplied valid identity
Strict precautions will be taken to safely test infectious samples following Mediclinic standard operating procedures (SOPs). This includes preparation, instructions to patients, handling to test specimen, disposal of used consumables and method of transfer to the laboratory. Following completion of testing, Mediclinic will generally discard excess samples in accordance with our sample retention SOP
VALIDATION OF TESTING PROCEDURES
COVID 19 PCR test conducted within the Molecular department of Mediclinic Group of Laboratory is validated based on international standards and meet all the International and Local requirements.
In rare instances Mediclinic may request for recollection of the sample after obtaining an “Invalid Test result” due to factors beyond Mediclinic control. In such cases Mediclinic will contact the patient/ passenger and Etihad informing on the necessity of the sample recollection. Mediclinic shall perform the intended test at no additional cost to the patient/ passenger.
REPORTS ISSUE AND VALIDITY PERIOD
All test results are issued electronically directly to the patient via the verified address. 24 - 48 hours needs to be allowed from the time of collection to the availability of the results. Positive results will be automatically communication to the DHA (Dubai Health Authority)/ DoH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi) as per regulatory requirement. Mediclinic will not share client reports with Etihad directly.
PCR AND ANTIBOBY RESULT VALIDITY
Mediclinic can assure the test validity for the sample collected and reported.
Mediclinic retains all patient medical data in accordance with the UAE laws. Laboratory reports are retained for a period of 25 years and are available on upon request of the client during this time.
CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY AND LIMIT OF LIABILITY
Mediclinic assumes no responsibility for any purpose for which a client chooses to use test results.
Mediclinic is not obliged to fulfil any obligation in respect to client, if its work execution is prevented because of circumstances which cannot be blamed, either under law, legal act or generally accepted accounts. (e.g. modified regulator restrictions).
