Summary
Dr Dhanjee qualified as a medical doctor in 1992 from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. He subsequently specialised in Urology, graduating cum laude and receiving the prestigious Lionel B. Goldschmidt Award. During completion of his Master’s degree in Urology, he was awarded the Van Blerk Medal for Outstanding Research.

He completed advanced laparoscopic training at the European Institute of Telesurgery in association with Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, France. Dr Dhanjee has extensive experience in prostate brachytherapy for early prostate cancer, having performed more than 400 procedures. He has also treated over 2000 patients with kidney stone disease affecting the kidney, ureter and bladder.

Dr Dhanjee is an accredited and experienced Da Vinci robotic surgeon and has performed robotic-assisted prostatectomies with successful outcomes for more than 10 years. He was also among the first urologists in his country to implement MIMS software, which utilises MRI-ultrasound fusion technology for early detection of prostate cancer.

Dr Dhanjee successfully managed a busy private practice for more than 23 years. He also served as Director and later Chairman of the Board at Mediclinic Newcastle in South Africa for over 20
