QUALITY & PATIENT SAFETY
Your safety guides every decision we make. Here's how we build it into the way we work, every day, at every Mediclinic facility.

How we approach quality
Safe, high-quality care comes from three things working together: the right infrastructure, reliable processes, and outcomes we can measure and stand behind. We test all three against the highest international benchmarks, so your care is checked against the same standards trusted by health systems worldwide. Every one of our hospitals and clinics holds Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, the gold-standard recognition awarded only after rigorous, independent assessment of our care.
Patient safety at Mediclinic Middle East is managed through a single, division-wide programme. We take a high-reliability approach: we look for risks before they become problems. The programme is aligned with UAE regulatory requirements and is carried out by hospital leadership, clinical teams, quality teams, and frontline staff.
- 140safety standards
- 9,000reviews annually
- 33JCI-accredited facilities
Keeping you safe, every day
When something goes wrong, or nearly does, we report it straight away. Every report is reviewed by a line manager and our Quality and Patient Safety team, then classified by how serious it was. More serious events go to a dedicated safety committee for a full review, so we understand exactly what happened and how we can prevent it happening again. We track indicators such as falls, pressure injuries, infection rates, mortality, readmissions, and unplanned returns to theatre, which enables us to act quickly wherever standards need to improve.
Safety is everyone's job here, from hospital leaders to frontline staff. We're focused on improving our systems, so every adverse event is not only reported but acted on. Ongoing infection control training, audits of clinical practice, and monitoring, including our annual Infection Control Week and regular reviews of data, keep prevention front of mind. Safe prescribing and medication administration are built into everyday practice, focusing on responsible use of antibiotics to protect their long-term effectiveness.
With these robust measures and systems in place, you can trust that every step of your care is being monitored, checked, and continually improved.

Recognised for safety and quality
Our facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories, hold accreditations from some of the most respected bodies in healthcare, including Joint Commission International, the American Heart Association, the Surgical Review Corporation, and the College of American Pathologists.
We report performance indicators to UAE regulatory frameworks, including the Department of Health and Dubai Health Authority, as part of our commitment to safe, accountable care.
