Learn where healthcare happens

Healthcare education is part of everyday clinical life at Mediclinic Middle East. Across our hospitals and clinics, students and trainees learn from experienced multidisciplinary teams, with opportunities to see how clinical knowledge, evidence, and research come together in real patient care.

Our educational opportunities span the healthcare career journey, from undergraduate placements through internships, residencies, fellowships, continuing professional development, and clinical electives. Learning may include supervised clinical experience, simulation-enhanced education, multidisciplinary working, research exposure, and progressive workplace-based learning.

Teaching is led by clinicians who actively share their expertise with students, trainees, and colleagues. Many bring extensive academic and teaching experience to Mediclinic Middle East, creating a culture where learning is part of the way our teams work. That culture supports high standards of care, encouraging teams to keep questioning, sharing knowledge, and applying what they learn in clinical practice.

Together with our academic and healthcare partners, we're helping develop the healthcare workforce of the UAE and beyond.

Backed by recognised standards

Learning at Mediclinic Middle East takes place within recognised academic and clinical training environments. Mediclinic City Hospital is a Joint Commission International (JCI) Academic Medical Centre. Our hospitals operate under the relevant Department of Health or Dubai Health Authority clinical training approvals, alongside university affiliations and professional training accreditations.

Through our affiliation with Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), our Dubai hospitals are also accredited training sites for the National Institute for Health Specialties and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

Our educational programmes are centrally coordinated across Mediclinic Middle East, helping programme leaders, educators, facilities, and academic partners maintain consistent standards across the network.

Where training can take you

The value of Mediclinic Middle East's education is clearest in what our learners go on to achieve.

Graduates of our MBRU MD partnership have matched into residency programmes across the UAE, UK, and US. In 2026, our partnership reached a milestone: 10 years of the MBRU MD programme, its fifth graduating cohort, with more than 45 postgraduate trainees completing residency and fellowship training across our facilities.

Better care through learning

Learning at Mediclinic Middle East happens within real clinical teams. Depending on where you receive care, you may meet medical, nursing, or allied health students, as well as interns, residents, or fellows.

They work alongside experienced healthcare professionals and are always supervised. Their involvement is part of a structured learning environment, with qualified clinicians continuing to lead and oversee your care throughout.

Teaching encourages questions, explanation, and discussion. Students can prompt clinicians to explore diagnoses, investigations, and treatments in greater detail, while teaching environments often allow more time to be spent with each patient.

For patients, that can mean a clearer understanding of what's happening, why certain options are being considered, and what comes next. It can also create more space for clinical discussion around your care.

Many of the clinicians caring for Mediclinic Middle East patients are also recognised educators and experts in their fields. Teaching the next generation means continually explaining, questioning, and engaging with the evidence behind clinical decisions.

That culture encourages continuous learning and helps our teams stay closely connected to current evidence and best practice. Education and research are closely linked at Mediclinic too, keeping clinicians close to new knowledge and innovation as it develops.

For patients, that means being cared for in an environment where learning remains part of everyday clinical practice.

Expertise in practice

It's a mark of the standard of care at Mediclinic Middle East that many of the specialists treating patients today are also training the ones who'll treat them tomorrow. More than 150 our healthcare professionals hold adjunct academic appointments with our university partners, recognising their contribution to teaching and research.

This gives students the opportunity to draw on the knowledge and experience of clinicians with deep expertise in their fields, while keeping the people delivering care closely engaged with research, evidence, and new developments.

Keeping care current

Learning doesn't stop once formal training ends. We deliver Continuing Medical Education activities across our facilities, helping healthcare professionals keep developing their knowledge and skills. Our free CME conferences bring together clinicians, researchers, nurses, allied health professionals, educators and healthcare leaders to explore emerging evidence, best practice, and innovation.
