Professor El Shawarbi operates across brain, skull base, peripheral nerve, and spine surgery in adults and children. His spine work spans micro-surgery, trauma, and instrumentation, and he led the establishment of SEHA's first stroke programme, paediatric neurosurgery, and neuromodulation services in the UAE. German board certified with a PhD, he has held head of neurosurgery and medical director roles in UAE hospitals, and was previously a consultant at the International Neuroscience Institute in Hannover. He is a past president of the Emirates Neuroscience Society.
