Dr. Ashok performs advanced laparoscopic surgery, from bariatric procedures - sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and mini bypass - to oesophageal and stomach cancer surgery, anti-reflux and hiatus hernia repair, gallbladder removal, and hernia repair, which means smaller incisions and a faster recovery. He also performs upper and lower GI endoscopy. He set up an advanced laparoscopic unit in the UK NHS, led upper GI cancer services at University Hospital Derby, and has taught surgery as an honorary assistant professor at Nottingham University and a Royal College of Surgeons examiner.
