About

Dr. Athar specialises in palliative care medicine, supporting patients living with advanced cancer and other chronic life-limiting illnesses. His work covers complex symptom control (pain, nausea, breathlessness, and fatigue), alongside advance care planning and end of life care. Much of his practice is open, honest communication with patients and families about what matters most, helping them stay involved in decisions about future care. He brings extensive inpatient experience with complex geriatric and oncology patients, and is an adjunct lecturer in medicine at MBRU.
