Dr. Atheer treats rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and lupus, alongside autoimmune conditions involving the eyes, skin, and chest, and non-inflammatory problems such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and regional pain. He performs joint and tendon injections and is regularly sought for second opinions in complex cases. After graduating in Baghdad he trained largely in the UK, achieving the FRCP of London and CCST in medicine and rheumatology at the East Midlands Deanery. He was lead organiser of Dubai's APLAR conference and has published widely.
