Dr. Hani operates on tumours and trauma of the brain and spine, using minimally invasive spine techniques where possible so patients face smaller incisions and a quicker recovery. Not every problem needs an operation: much of his work is the non-surgical management of neck and back pain, including interventional pain treatment, so surgery is never the only option. He spent 10 years as head of department at Al Ain Hospital, where he developed the neurosurgery service and established the hospital's trauma centre, and is a member of the European Society of Neurosurgery.
