Dr. Joao cares for children from the newborn period onwards, treating asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema, constipation, enuresis, and childhood infections, and supporting parents through newborn care and the everyday illnesses of childhood. He qualified at Oporto University in Portugal and completed his paediatric residency there, with experience in neonatal and paediatric intensive care. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and is on the UK GMC specialist register.
