About
Dr. Jumaa treats narrowed or blocked arteries in the heart through a small incision rather than open surgery. Volume matters in this work, and he has performed over 6,000 procedures, including complex coronary interventions, chronic total occlusions, carotid stenting, and TAVI, a way of replacing a faulty aortic valve without opening the chest - a procedure he was the first to introduce at Zayed Military Hospital. He earned his MD from Case Western Reserve University in the US, with fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
