DAISY Award at Mediclinic City Hospital
DAISY Award (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) is an international program that honours and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses and midwives provide everyday.

The family of J. Patrick Barnes established the DAISY Foundation after he died from complications of the autoimmune disease ITP . During his hospitalization they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family by the Nursing Staff so they felt compelled to say “Thank you “in a very public way.
So if you ever wanted to say thank you to a special Nurse or Midwife and how he/she made a difference you will never forget , this is one very special way to do it.
How to Nominate an Extraordinary Nurse and Midwife
Patients, visitors, nurses, physicians and employees may nominate a deserving recipient of the DAISY AWARD. This staff’s clinical skill and especially his/her compassionate care exemplify the kind of nursing and midwifery staff our patients, their families and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model
