Prof. Abdulrahman Hagr is a pioneering figure in the field of otology and neurotology in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East. He is the founder and advisor of the national Cochlear Implant Programmes in Saudi Arabia and played a key role in advancing hearing healthcare in the region. At King Saud University, he established the Otology and Neurotology Fellowship Programme, contributing to the development of future specialists in the field.
Prof. Hagr is also the founder of the largest cochlear implant programme in the Middle East. His visionary leadership led to the introduction of several groundbreaking hearing solutions in Saudi Arabia, including the first Bone Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA), Hybrid Cochlear Implant (CI), Auditory Brainstem Implant (ABI), Active Bone Conduction Implant (ABCI), Vistafix, Vibroplasty, and Bonebridge programmes. His contributions have significantly improved the quality of life for individuals with hearing impairments across the region.
