In addition to strategy and digital transformation, he is also responsible for pricing, analytics, payer relations, RCM processes, business development and UAE growth for Mediclinic Middle East.

Ahmed Ali

Ahmed Ali

Executive Director

Ahmed Ali has worked for Mediclinic as an executive director since 1997.  He works closely with the UAE authorities to grow the business locally and internationally, and is a member of the Group International Growth Committee.  He is also Chairman of Mediclinic’s Emiratisation programme.

Prior to joining Mediclinic he worked for Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Emirates Airline.  He holds a degree in Civil Aviation.

Barry has 30 years' experience in general and human resources management, the majority of which has been in healthcare. Barry joined Mediclinic Middle East in 2017 as Hospital Director for Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital and shortly after moved to Dubai where he played a key role in the commissioning of Mediclinic Parkview Hospital. Before joining Mediclinic Middle East, Barry held leadership positions in private healthcare facilities in Abu Dhabi and South Africa.

Barry holds a Masters in Business Administration from North-West University, South Africa and Labour Law from Randse Afrikaans University.

Michèle Rosso was previously the Head of Group Reporting & Financial Control for GHG and BMI Healthcare in the UK. She joined Mediclinic Middle East in September 2014 as Chief Financial Officer.

Dr Pietie Loubser

Chief Clinical Officer

Dr. Pietie Loubser qualified as a Medical Doctor at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 1986 and subsequently as a consultant anaesthetist in 1996 [M. Med (Anes)]. Dr. Loubser also obtained a Fellowship from the College of Anaesthesiologists (FCA) in South Africa in 1996 and successfully completed his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) at Stellenbosch University Business School in 2007.

Dr. Loubser practised as an anaesthetist in Windhoek, Namibia, for 12 years before moving to Dubai when he was initally appointed as Chief Clinical Officer for Emirates Healthcare Limited, a joint venture between Mediclinic International, General Electric and the Varkey Group. Mediclinic acquired the interests of all the minority shareholders in 2012 and rebranded the company to Mediclinic Middle East. 

Augustine Amusu

Chief Information Officer

Augustine Amusu is an internationally experienced healthcare technology executive with a proven track record in strategy formulation, innovation, digital transformation and the delivery of solutions that align with organisational growth strategy.

Prior to joining Mediclinic, he was the Chief Information Officer at a leading hospital in Dubai. Subsequent to his career in the United Arab Emirates, he was with HCA Healthcare UK, a subsidiary of NYSE-listed HCA Inc. the largest private healthcare group globally, where he was responsible for clinical and business technologies, and spearheaded multiple initiatives utilising technology to transform the business, as well as supporting in the commissioning of multiple facilities. He is fortunate to have been nominated for multiple UK national awards and holds both the prestigious Laing and Buisson and Health Investor Awards for Innovation.

Augustine holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Engineering (1st Class HONS) from Richmond, The American International University in London, UK, and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Imperial College, London, UK.

Willie Willemse

Willie holds a B. Comm Hons. Management Accounting degree from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He started his career of almost 30 years at Mediclinic in 1995 as an Administration Manager at Mediclinic Worcester and fulfilled a number of different roles in Mediclinic Southern Africa before joining the Mediclinic Middle East team in 2011 as the Administration Manager for Mediclinic Welcare Hospital. He moved to the Funder Relations department at Mediclinic Corporate Office in 2013 and was actively involved with the design, development and negotiations with health regulators around various healthcare business models. This led to his appointment as Business Development Director in 2018 where Willie and his team played a key role in the design and development of business plans for the expansion across the continuum of care and virtual health services in addition to driving business performance improvement processes. Willie was appointed as Chief Strategy Officer in 2023.

Raweya Al Qader has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and sales.  Prior to joining Mediclinic, she held key roles at leading banking organisations in the UAE such as HSBC, ADIB and FAB, where she excelled in formulating strategies, enhancing brand recognition and cultivating customer loyalty. With a B2C approach, she aims to drive continual business success.   

Raweya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Science  and a Higher Diploma in Banking and Finance from the Higher Colleges of Technology, UAE.  She also holds a Women in Leadership degree from American University in the Emirates, and a black six sigma certificate from the Emirates Institute of Finance.

Zainab has experience of almost 20 years across a range of disciplines in the government, semi-government and private sectors with organisations such as Aldar Properties, Masdar/Mubadala and Abu Dhabi Executive Council.  She has a proven track record as a key driver in spearheading strategic human resources including the establishment of HR functions, culture transformation, diversity and inclusion, organisational effectiveness, employee engagement and wellbeing. Zainab continues to shape the human resources landscape at Mediclinic Middle East, fostering a workplace culture of growth, efficiency and inclusivity.

Zainab holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi.
