Dr. Werner focused on Fetal Medicine through his fellowship at the Department of Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy in Hamburg, Germany, in 1999. After completing his fellowship and finalising his specialisation in 2006, he became a subspecialist in Fetal Medicine in 2012 at the University Hospital of Hamburg (UKE), Germany. From 2009, he worked as a Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Perinatal Medicine there, until 2015, when he moved to the UAE.
Dr. Werner is an author and co-author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and textbook chapters. He has also participated in and led international conferences in the field. As a subspecialist and Consultant in Fetal Medicine, with experience in thousands of ultrasound examinations, including first-trimester screening, anomaly scans, and Doppler assessments, he provides specialised care in maternal health and fetal development. Additionally, he has extensive experience in fetal echocardiography and has led a dedicated Fetal Cardiology Clinic.
Invasive diagnostic procedures, including amniocentesis, placental sampling, and fetal sampling, as well as treatment interventions ranging from intrauterine transfusions and fetal shunt placement to EXIT procedures and in-utero fetal surgery, are among the procedures he performs. Having performed more than 500 fetoscopic laser and fetal surgery procedures, he has extensive experience in this field.
Dr. Werner takes a transparent and sincere approach to patient care and has experience working with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. He understands the impact of pregnancy complications on women, babies, and their families.
