Dr. Masood Ali is a highly experienced Consultant Pulmonologist with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of respiratory and sleep-related conditions. His clinical interests include chronic cough, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, pleural diseases, and sleep disorders.
Dr. Masood completed his postgraduate specialist training (CCST) in Pulmonology and Internal Medicine in the United Kingdom through the East of England Deanery, Cambridge. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London. He also undertook clinical research at the internationally renowned Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, UK, and has published several articles in well-regarded peer-reviewed medical journals.
In 2010, Dr. Masood was appointed as a full-time substantive Consultant in Pulmonology and Internal Medicine at Southend University Hospital, UK, where he worked until 2017. During this time, he also served as the Clinical Lead for the Sleep and Ventilation Service.
Dr. Masood has particular expertise in sleep medicine and is fully proficient in reporting both basic and advanced sleep studies. He is also experienced in interpreting comprehensive lung function tests and performing key respiratory procedures, including bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS).
He is highly skilled in the management of complex respiratory inpatients, including those with pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, acute exacerbations of asthma and COPD, and pleural effusions.
