Dr. Tarik assesses and treats depression, psychosis, and the psychosomatic conditions where emotional distress shows up as physical symptoms, tailoring treatment to each patient with the aim of lasting recovery. He also provides the psychological assessments needed before bariatric (weight loss) surgery, supporting patients through that decision as part of the wider obesity care team. He completed his postgraduate psychiatric training at the Institute of Psychiatry in London and has practised in the UK, Iraq, and the UAE, including at Abu Dhabi's central psychiatric hospital.
