- Summary
- Dr. Nia is a Consultant in Adult and Paediatric Emergency Medicine with twenty years of postgraduate international experience having trained in accredited training programs in London and Sydney. I was a Consultant at Northwick Park Hospital in London since 2021 and have been based in the UAE since 2024 working at STMC in Al Ain, which is a regional Major Trauma Centre in Adult and Paediatric Emergency Medicine and Trauma. In London, I trained in the prestigious North West Thames rotation and completed my higher specialty training in the Major Trauma Centres of St Marys Hospital and the Royal London Hospital where I completed my fellowship in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. Here I developed my interest in Serious Youth Violence prevention. I worked on a number of initiatives using the Emergency Department to help identify and advocate for young people at risk of serious youth violence and provide interventions to reduce their morbidity and mortality. Other initiatives involved working with schools, youth centers and prisons to train young people in basic life support and bleed control. In my daily practice I work in resuscitation and am an ALS, APLS and ATLS provider and nominated instructor. I use Ultrasound in my daily practice especially in resuscitation. I have extensive teaching and managerial experience and am committed to training and development of emergency multidisciplinary teams.
