- Dr. Karen Kamphausen, MD, is a highly experienced Consultant Endocrinologist with over two decades of clinical, diagnostic and academic experience. She holds dual specialist qualifications in Internal Medicine as well as in Endocrinology and Diabetology. She has been working as a board-certified endocrinologist for the past 15 years, with a particular interest and expertise in complex endocrine disorders of the pituitary gland, adrenal glands, and thyroid as well as in obesity medicine. Previously, she practiced at Endokrinologikum Hamburg, where she led the assessment of hormonal analyses for external practices, and supervised the clinical training of medical students and specialist physicians. Her earlier medical career at the University Medical Centre Hamburg Eppendorf included broad internal medicine training in gastroenterology, hepatology, haematology, oncology and intensive care.
Dr. Kamphausen’s competencies reflect a comprehensive approach to managing the full spectrum of complex endocrine and metabolic diseases with expertise in advanced hormonal and metabolic testing, including dynamic endocrine procedures, as well as the use of imaging modalities for endocrine disease evaluation.
