Dr. Alexandra Broadhead is a highly respected British Family Medicine Consultant with an array of additional medical specialities and qualifications over a distinguished career.

Dr. Broadhead trained at the internationally renowned Kings College London, based at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals, achieving both her MBBS alongside an additional BSc in Anatomy & Medical Sciences. She has been practicing as a doctor for over 18 years, starting her career in hospital disciplines such as Paediatrics, Gynaecology and Ear, Nose & Throat in some of the UK’s top institutions before committing to Family Medicine, which has been her focus for the last 13 years. She became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2016.

Since 2017, Dr. Broadhead has been a Senior Family Medicine Consultant at one of the largest practices in the south of the UK, as a co-owner and senior partner. At the forefront of many new treatments, the practice served a large population including two major universities, giving Dr. Broadhead a large range of experience with conditions in both the young and old alike. During her time in the UK, she also gained an additional medical educational training degree, (PGCert) and has, alongside her clinical work, worked as a trainer of new Family Medicine doctors. This work has kept her of the forefront of new techniques, technologies and research.

Her extensive experience means that Dr Broadhead is highly-sought after and respected, which she complements with her friendly and accommodating approach to her patients.

Dr. Broadhead is a strong believer in continual and proactive health checks to monitor and catch treatable conditions early. Many conditions such as diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol are on the rise. Along with others, such as thyroid dysfunction, they are much better managed if caught early – and active health monitoring is key.

Although experienced in many specialities, Dr. Broadhead has particular skills and focus on paediatric care, diabetes management, women’s health and management of chronic conditions in both the young and old. As a Type 1 diabetic herself, she has wide and first-hand experience of endocrine conditions, including their management in relation to other medical issues.
