- Dr Shaden is a Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist with more than 20 years’ experience in Paediatrics and Paediatric Gastroenterology, who specialises in paediatric digestive diseases, liver, nutrition disorders and endoscopy procedures in children. Dr Shaden is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) in Dubai, UAE.
Dr Shaden is a graduate of the Medical College at Damascus University, Syria from 2000. She holds an Arab Board degree in General Paediatrics 2005, and the MRCPCH 1 and 2 from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK. She completed a clinical fellowship training in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition in Saudi Arabia, and trained in endoscopy procedures in children at many specialised hospitals in the Gulf region. She has worked in various prestigious tertiary hospitals and in paediatric liver transplant centres in the Gulf region, and has performed more than 1500 endoscopy procedures in children such as diagnostic gastroscopy and colonoscopy, esophageal varices banding and sclerotherapy, oesophageal dilatation, foreign body removal and management of gastrointestinal bleeding in children.
Dr Shaden has been published in many international journals of paediatric gastroenterology and has contributed to academic teaching and research activities. She has contributed as a committee member to the academic fellowship training program in paediatric gastroenterology at Saudi Arabia and she is a member of the paediatric gastroenterology societies in the Gulf Region.
