- Dr Philippe Landreau is specialised in knee and shoulder surgery. He is an expert in the treatment of acute and chronic sports injuries and in the treatment of degenerative lesions including conservative treatment, osteotomy and arthroplasty.
He is recognised internationally for his work in orthopaedic and sports medicine, his education programmes, his scientific publications and his activity within the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
Before moving to Dubai, he was the Chief of Surgery at Aspetar (from 2010 to 2018), Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar. Previously he worked in Paris, France, where he combined private and public surgical activity (Clinique du Sport, American Hospital of Paris, La Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital). Throughout his career, Dr Landreau was a referral surgeon for numerous regional and national sports teams including the Stade Français Rugby team, the French National Judo team, the French National Handball women’s team, the American Football Flash team, the National football team of Qatar and Emirati football clubs (Al Nasr, A Wasl, Sharjah, Emirates club).
He has more than 25 years’ experience in the field and has carried out more than 18,000surgeries across Europe and the Middle East region.
He is a member of the Board of Directors at ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine)., Member of the Sports Medicine Committee and the Publications committee at ISAKOS. Member of Organizing and Scientific Committee at Emirates Orthopaedic Society, Member of the ICJR advisory board, an International Affiliate Member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Honorary member of the French Arthroscopic Society.
He has published more than 100 journal articles, book chapters and books and presented more than 1000 lectures, conferences, workshops and instructional courses worldwide.
He implemented the first surgical training centere in the Middle East that entails cadaveric workshops, anatomical education and research.
He was a conceptor of the knee prosthesis implant and is a consultant for international and global leading orthopaedic industries.
