Diabetes management programme
Multidisciplinary support for people at risk of diabetes, newly diagnosed with diabetes, living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, or managing diabetes during pregnancy.

Diabetes care that goes beyond blood sugar
Managing diabetes can involve medical treatment, nutrition, day-to-day self-care, monitoring, and support with the wider health risks linked to the condition. Mediclinic's Diabetes management programme brings these areas together so you can better understand your health and make informed decisions about your care.
The programme is available at Mediclinic Dubai Mall and Mediclinic Welcare Hospital. Both use a multidisciplinary approach, but the services and support available at each facility differ.
Who the programme can support
People at risk of developing diabetes or living with prediabetes
People who are newly diagnosed
People living with type 1 diabetes
People living with type 2 diabetes
Women with gestational diabetes
Support at different stages of diabetes
If you have prediabetes, the focus can include healthier eating, exercise, and close monitoring to help reduce the risk of progression.
If you are living with diabetes, the programme can help with practical day-to-day skills such as checking blood sugar, choosing food, understanding medication, and working with a primary team that can include a diabetes educator, dietitian, primary physician, and podiatrist.
If you have gestational diabetes, care can include close glucose monitoring during pregnancy, education on a low-carbohydrate nutritious diet, and follow-up after delivery to check that diabetes has resolved and help reduce the risk of recurrence.
