Pregnancy and postnatal support
Midwife, emotional, breastfeeding, and early postnatal support to help you feel informed and supported before and after your baby is born.

Support around the changes of pregnancy and birth
Pregnancy and the first weeks after birth can bring practical, physical, and emotional questions. Mediclinic Middle East’s maternity support services include one-to-one midwife consultations, emotional support, breastfeeding guidance, and postnatal home visits.
You can use these services to prepare for birth, talk through concerns, build confidence with breastfeeding and baby care, or get extra support once you are home.
Emotional support before and after birth
Antenatal and postnatal emotional support is available for concerns such as anxiety, stress, or fears about childbirth. The service includes personalised counselling and access to mental health professionals who specialise in maternal care.
Ask your obstetrician for more information. Cash packages are available if the service is not covered by your insurance, starting at AED 2,250 for four sessions with one of our specialised psychologists.
One-to-one midwife support
A midwife consultation can be general or focused on a particular topic. You can ask about physical changes during pregnancy, nutrition, exercise, labour preparation, pain management, mental health screening, or breastfeeding.
A birth-planning consultation gives you time to discuss your preferences for labour and delivery, any medical considerations, and how plans may need to change if circumstances change during labour.
Breastfeeding support before and after birth
One-to-one lactation consultations can help you prepare for breastfeeding, discuss your goals, and plan for common challenges. Before birth, a consultant can also explain colostrum harvesting, including how to express and store colostrum safely during the last weeks of pregnancy.
After your baby is born, support can include breastfeeding assessment and counselling, practical guidance for feeding difficulties, and emotional support.
Breast milk provides important nutrition during a baby’s first six months and is associated with benefits for infant development and maternal health, including reducing the mother’s risk of breast and ovarian cancer, reducing the risk of childhood obesity, and supporting the baby’s eye and brain development.
Postnatal support at home
Midwife Home Care is available in Dubai, within the first 28 days after birth. An experienced midwife visits you at home to give personalised support for you and your baby as you recover and settle into life with your newborn.
Support can include:
- Health checks for you and your baby
- Wound or perineal care and recovery advice
- Breastfeeding and feeding support
- Emotional wellbeing check-ins
- Baby weight checks
- Advice on baby care, sleep, and routines
- Safe sleep guidance
- Signs of illness to look out for
You can choose a single visit or a package of 3 or 5 visits. Additional charges apply for twins.
