Summary
Dr Ahmed Anaizi is a highly experienced Specialist in Internal Medicine with more than 30 years of clinical experience in managing both acute and chronic medical conditions. Before joining Mediclinic Middle East in October 2010, he worked for approximately 12 years in Saudi Arabia, where he gained extensive experience in internal medicine practice and patient care.
At Mediclinic, Dr Ahmed works as part of the Internal Medicine team, providing care for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses. His role includes managing emergency cases in the urgent care unit, following patients who require admission to the intensive care unit or medical wards and providing comprehensive outpatient care.
Dr Ahmed regularly manages conditions such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, gastrointestinal disorders including upper and lower gastrointestinal bleeding, dyspeptic symptoms, hepatitis and various infectious diseases.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Ahmed served as a team leader in the management of critically ill patients with severe respiratory distress. Working closely with intensivists and multidisciplinary teams.
He currently chairs the hospital’s Antibiotic Stewardship Program, established in 2019 in collaboration with the Department of Health to address antimicrobial resistance. The program focuses on promoting the appropriate use of antibiotics and monitoring resistance patterns to ensure patient safety and high-quality care.
Dr Ahmed’s professional interests include diabetes, infectious diseases, pulmonary medicine and gastroenterology. He is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred care while continuously working to enhance the quality and safety of healthcare services.
