MEDICLINIC AIRPORT ROAD HOSPITAL IS THE FIRST PRIVATE HOSPITAL IN ABU DHABI TO ACHIEVE THE PRESTIGIOUS CLINICAL CARE PROGRAM CERTIFICATION BY THE JOINT COMMISSION INTERNATIONAL FOR ITS ACUTE CORONARY SYNDROME (ACS) PROGRAM

Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital has recently achieved the prestigious Clinical Care Program Certification (CCPC) accreditation by the US-based Joint Commission International (JCI) for its Acute Coronary Syndrome Program which specialises in the management of patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (patients suffering from heart attack and coronary artery disease).
This achievement is an indication of excellence in the cardiac care service that is practised to the highest of international standards, where the cardiac unit underwent and passed the JCI’s rigorous accreditation process.

This accreditation distinguishes Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital from many other cardiac facilities as a provider of the highest standards of care to patients, with standard and enhanced care for adult patients suffering from different types of heart attacks medically known as ACS: ST elevation myocardial infarction, non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, and unstable anginas requiring intervention.
This achievement means that the Acute Coronary Syndrome Program of Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital has met nationally and internationally recognised standards of care. Not all hospitals and cardiologists seek accreditation and not all that undergo the rigorous requirements and inspection process are granted accreditation.

Acute coronary syndrome is currently recognised as leading cause of death in developed countries and in the United Arab Emirates. Therefore, there is a moral need to improve the quality of care to our patients, and reduce morbidity and mortality. The program focuses on reducing time to cardiac catheterisation, ensuring that all evidence-based treatment is given in timely manner, and educating patients about their condition throughout their hospital stay.
The Acute Coronary Syndrome Program is operated by a multidisciplinary team consisting of highly trained interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, a dedicated Catheterisation laboratory nursing team, and highly qualified experts representing the various areas involved in providing safe and ethical care. All have the highest levels of western certifications/qualifications along with experts in dietetics and other supporting services who make sure that each patient receives highly specialised care that is tailored to their individual needs. The unit follows the most up-to-date international standards which help our patients in getting the most appropriate treatment, may it be surgical or non-surgical. It is equipped with the latest instruments and technological innovation, enabling us to perform various types of cardiac procedures annually with excellent outcomes.
