The Department of Cardiology provides a wide range of procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease including cardiac catheterisation amongst other procedures. The department provides general, non-invasive and interventional services for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Our patients benefit from the most recent and advanced diagnostic services conducted by a team of experienced cardiologists, interventional radiologists, haemodynamic study staff and critical care experienced nursing staff, patient education and a comprehensive rehabilitation program, ensuring expert and personalized care.

Some of the services offered by the Department include general cardiology (coronary artery disease, valvular disease, chest pain, shortness of breath), preventive cardiology, electrophysiology (rhythm disturbance, syncope) and advanced heart failure and transplant.  The non-invasive diagnostic studies available are echocardiography with capabilities of color flow 2-D.M. continuous wave and pulsed doppler, nuclear cardiology, PET and CT imaging, short and long term heart beat monitoring, exercise and stress electrocardiogram test and stress and pharmacologic imaging tests. The invasive diagnostic studies available are trans-oesophageal echocardiography, cardiac and peripheral vascular angiography, biopsies, intravascular ultrasound and flow measurements and electrophysiological testing. Various therapeutic interventions are offered including ablations of abnormal heart rhythm, implantable cardioverter defibrillator, anti-arrhythmic pacing, standard and biventricular pacing, coronary angioplasty, stenting and brachytherapy, peripheral vascular angioplasty and stenting, valvuloplasty and closure of septal defects.
