Dr Arianna obtained her MD at the University of Palermo (Italy) in 1996. Subsequently, she completed her postgraduate specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and subspecialist Reproductive Medicine at the University of Palermo in 2000. In 1999, she was appointed Research Fellow in Assisted Reproduction at the University Hospital of Wales (UK) where she remained until 2002. She worked as Consultant in Reproductive Medicine in Bologna (Italy) for two years and then she was appointed as Consultant in Essex (UK) and subsequently in Wales (UK). In 2021 Dr Arianna became the Clinical Lead in Reproductive Medicine at Wales Fertility Institute, Cardiff and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Cardiff University. She also held the position of Director of the postgraduate teaching Diploma/Master in Ultrasound at Cardiff University. Dr Arianna has over 20 years’ experience in Assisted Reproduction and Ultrasound.
Dr Arianna has research interests in ultrasound (diagnostic and interventional), Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), fertility preservation for benign and malignant conditions, recurrent miscarriage and implantation failure, markers of ovarian reserve and ovarian cancer screening. She is author of several international publications; invited speaker at national and international conferences/webinars and peer-reviewer for many journals in the field of reproductive medicine and ultrasound.

Dr Arianna is the current UK Clinician National Representative (CNR) for the European Society of Human Reproduction & Embryology (ESHRE), member of the ESHRE Ethics Committee, Past Coordinator of the ESHRE Special Interest Group (SIG) in Safety and Quality in ART (SQART). She is member, reviewer, co-reviewer and translator for the Cochrane Gynaecology and Fertility Group. She is member of Guidelines development group (GDG) on ESHRE guidelines on Fertility preservation, Ultrasound and Key performance indicators. She is Editor for the European Medical Journal (EMJ), Life (MDPI) and Editor/Author for CRC press.
