- Dr Leila Ismail is a British-trained Consultant Interventional Breast Radiologist with close to 20 years of experience in healthcare. She has trained and worked in leading hospitals across London, South Africa and Dubai.
She obtained her medical degree (MBChB with Honours) from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 2008. She later completed her Clinical Radiology training at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust in the United Kingdom, achieving Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists FRCR (UK) in 2016.
Dr Leila subsequently undertook two advanced clinical fellowships in centres of excellence across North West London, subspecialising in Breast Imaging and Gynaecological Imaging, and was awarded her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
Prior to relocating to Dubai in 2022, she worked as a Consultant Radiologist within the NHS at several internationally recognised centres in London. She gained extensive experience across both screening and symptomatic breast units within London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, renowned for its Comprehensive Breast Oncology Unit and as the first trust in the United Kingdom to perform MRI-guided breast biopsies. Her work encompassed complex diagnostic and interventional breast imaging.
Dr Leila has a strong interest in education and research and currently serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU). She is regularly invited as faculty to national and international conferences and is deeply committed to advancing breast cancer awareness.
