- Planning your admission
Please inform the Admissions Office of the date of your proposed admission, if this has already been agreed upon between you and the doctor. Otherwise, please discuss and decide with the Admissions Office of a suitable date for your admission. The Admissions Office should be contacted well in advance so that necessary formalities and other procedures can be completed prior to your admission.
- Accommodation and meals
The Comprehensive Cancer Centre offers private rooms with en-suite bathrooms and are fully furnished with International direct dial telephones, mini-fridge and multi-channel satellite television.

- On the day of admission
While most surgical patients are admitted on the morning of the planned surgery, some conditions require pre-operative preparations and anaesthetic evaluation which necessitate coming into hospital a day earlier.
Upon arrival, please proceed to the Admissions Office which functions from 6am to 8pm, Saturday to Thursday. Friday admissions will be done through the Emergency Department. If the Admissions Office is closed, please proceed to the Emergency Department.
- Personal items
The hospital provides pyjamas and dressing gowns. You may however, wish to bring your own clothes, bedroom slippers and toiletries. Clothing should be loose and preferably front-opening.
We recommend that you leave all valuables items at home. Alternatively, a safe deposit box is available for use free of charge. Please contact the Nurse In-charge on your floor should you wish to use this facility. Deposits of your items and withdrawals are possible during working hours of the hospital administration.

If for any reason you are unable to keep your appointment for an admission, kindly inform your doctor and the Admissions Office at least 24 hours in advance. Your co-operation will assist us in meeting the needs of other patients as well as avoiding cancellation penalties.
- Self-paying patients
Hospital policy requires that self-paying patients deposit the estimated cost of treatment prior to or at the time of admission. Cost estimates can be obtained from the Admissions Office prior to the admission planned.
Payment can be made in cheque, cash or by credit card. The hospital accepts American Express, Visa and Mastercard.
- Company sponsored patients
If your treatment has been sponsored by your or your spouse's employer, please inform the Admissions Office well in advance and ensure that all necessary authorisations and other documents are in order.
Once the guarantee of payment is submitted, the Admission Office will confirm the coverage of the procedure after confirming with management.
- Insured patients
The hospital has arrangements for settling treatment expenses directly with all major health insurance companies. Among others, these include Alliance, ADNIC, ALICO, BUPA International, HealthNet, MedNet, Oman Insurance and PPP (please see Insurance Affiliates). Most of the required planned treatment is to be pre-authorised to qualify for direct settlement. Please contact the Admissions Office well in advance with full details of your planned treatment and insurance coverage. They will let you know if your treatment has been fully approved by the insurers for direct settlement or not. Expenses not covered by insurance plans will have to be settled by the patient via cash or credit card.
