- Dr. Hanan Abohamer is a specialist psychiatrist, with more than seventeen years of experience in psychiatry. Dr. Hanan got her medical undergraduate degree at Tanta University, Egypt in 2002, completed the residency training program in psychiatry and neurology in Tanta University hospital Egypt 2008 and had obtained the master’s degree in psychiatry and neurology with honours of excellence with the research done about the recent intervention in psychiatry “Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder”.
Before moving to UAE, Dr Hanan had worked in a highly specialized Psychiatry, Neurology and Neurosurgery Centre of Tanta University, Egypt, for 8 years with special clinical experience in transcranial magnetic stimulation in TMS unit there.
Dr. Hanan has been working in UAE since 2018; she had worked at Alamal Psychiatric Hospital Dubai, Emirates Health Services, from 2018 till 2023 in both inpatient and outpatient adult psychiatric departments. She participated in the establishment of TMS unit there and setting up its standard operational policy. She held the post of Adjunct Clinical Lecturer of Psychiatry at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine (MBRU) 2019-2023 and as an Adjunct Clinical Faculty at University of Sharjah 2020- 2022.
Dr. Hanan had worked in American Centre for Psychiatry and Neurology from May 2023 till January 2026 in both Dubai and Sharjah branches. She had also worked part time in Fakeeh University Hospital for one year 2024-2025. Alongside clinical career, Dr Hanan has a special interest in research, she has been a co-author in published papers, and she has been a speaker at international Psychiatric conferences and other academic activities.
