- Dr Hemant Vadeyar is a Consultant General, Gastrointestinal and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgeon, with a particular interest in diseases of the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts and pancreas.
He specialises in the management of gallstones, pancreatitis, and cancers of the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts and pancreas. He is currently a Consultant at Mediclinic City Hospital and brings over 35 years of clinical experience in the UK and India.
Dr Vadeyar is highly experienced in performing complex gastrointestinal and liver cancer surgeries. He specialises in laparoscopic and robotic surgery involving the gastrointestinal tract, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. He is particularly well known for gallbladder surgery for gallstones and performs a high volume of these procedures regularly at Mediclinic City Hospital.
Over the course of his career, Dr Vadeyar has performed more than 5,000 gallbladder surgeries and over 800 liver surgeries for liver cancer.
He previously worked as a Consultant Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgeon in busy specialist HPB units in Nottingham and Manchester, UK. At Mediclinic City Hospital, Dr Vadeyar is a key member of the Gastrointestinal Services team and the GI Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
He has also played a leading role in establishing specialist liver units and liver transplantation services at two hospitals in India and has extensive experience in both cadaveric and living donor liver transplantation.
