Dr. Albakshy has a particular clinical interest in complex and high-risk coronary intervention, including coronary bifurcation and left main interventions, chronic total occlusion (CTO) PCI, primary percutaneous coronary intervention for acute myocardial infarction and acute coronary syndromes, rotational atherectomy, and saphenous vein graft intervention following coronary artery bypass surgery.
His expertise also encompasses advanced cardiovascular imaging, including interpretation of coronary CT angiography (CCTA), echocardiography, stress imaging, and nuclear cardiology. He has advanced training in Level III Echocardiography and Level II Nuclear Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine. He also has particular expertise in invasive cardiovascular hemodynamics and right heart catheterization, including assessment of intracardiac pressures and pulmonary hemodynamics.
Dr. Albakshy completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at the University of Toronto, Canada, followed by fellowship training in Adult Cardiovascular Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, USA, and Interventional Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, USA.
