Dr. Hoyam is a clinical psychologist with more than 28 years of experience in Sudan and the UAE. She has extensive expertise in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of psychological and behavioural conditions affecting adults, adolescents and children.

Her clinical practice includes the assessment and management of depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias, panic disorders, bipolar disorder, sleep disturbances, adjustment disorders, anger management, personality disorders and eating disorders. She also provides psychotherapy for marital and family-related concerns, as well as childhood and adolescent psychological conditions.

Dr. Hoyam has particular experience in childhood disorders, including bedwetting, separation anxiety, school and other phobias, and conduct disorders. She also assesses neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism spectrum disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Her expertise includes psychometric assessment of cognitive impairment, including assessments related to dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr. Hoyam has more than 15 years of academic experience as an Assistant Professor at Juba and Bahri Universities, where she taught clinical psychology, abnormal psychology, psychophysiology, psychopathology and psychotherapy to undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has also supervised more than 85 undergraduate and Master's research projects.

Dr. Hoyam holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology, awarded in 2011, and is a member of the American Psychological Association, American Psychiatric Association and Sudanese Psychologists Association.
