She completed her specialist psychiatry training within the East of England Deanery, gaining her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry and Liaison Psychiatry.
Before joining Mediclinic, Dr. Laura worked as a Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist at a busy teaching hospital outside London, where she provided clinical leadership to the liaison psychiatry team, supporting effective decision-making and delivering high-quality care to patients with complex psychiatric and medical needs. She has extensive experience in the assessment and management of a broad range of mental health conditions across emergency, acute and inpatient settings.
Through her liaison psychiatry practice, Dr. Laura worked closely with multidisciplinary medical and surgical teams, demonstrating strong communication skills, a collaborative approach to patient care and a steadfast commitment to patient safety.
Dr. Laura has a particular interest and expertise in perinatal mental health, having worked in both community outpatient services and a specialist Mother and Baby Unit. She manages mental health conditions during pregnancy and the postnatal period, including the safe, evidence-based prescribing of psychotropic medication where appropriate. She works collaboratively with obstetric and neonatal teams to provide comprehensive, family-centred care.
She also has experience delivering antenatal psychoeducation programmes alongside clinical psychologists, helping expectant and new mothers navigate the emotional and psychological challenges of pregnancy and early parenthood.
