Dr. Tamer is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with more than 30 years of experience in ophthalmology, having practised in the UAE, Egypt, Oman and Saudi Arabia. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1992, followed by a Master's degree in Ophthalmology from the same university in 1998. He also obtained a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK, in 2003.
Dr. Tamer has a special interest and extensive expertise in corneal and refractive surgery. His clinical practice includes the management of keratoconus, dry eye disease and corneal conditions, as well as advanced refractive procedures and keratoplasty.
He has been actively involved in ophthalmology through membership of several national and international professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, International Society of Refractive Surgery and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has also held leadership and representative roles within the International Society of Refractive Surgery across the UAE, Egypt and Oman.
Dr. Tamer regularly participates in national and international ophthalmology conferences and has received several awards from professional organisations. He is committed to keeping up to date with advances in corneal and refractive surgery and providing patients with evidence-based, personalised ophthalmic care.
