Summary
Dr. Rain Sim is a UK-certified Paediatrics Consultant. She graduated from Royal Free and University College London Medical School and trained in the various London tertiary university NHS hospitals, which included Imperial Healthcare, King’s College, Royal London and Great Ormond Street Hospital. She specialised in neonatology and paediatric critical care, with clinical research experience in neonatal surgery and neurodevelopment. She became a consultant at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust London and was recognised as a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health with a focus on developing high-performing paediatric emergency and critical care teams using evidence-based guidelines, quality improvement projects, high-fidelity simulation trainings and multidisciplinary education programs at both local and regional levels.
She moved to Dubai in 2022 as the Paediatric Emergency Lead and to establish a new Paediatric Critical Care Unit at King’s College London Hospital Dubai Hills. She held additional leadership roles chairing the Disaster Emergency Management committee, leading the Paediatric Research and Education programs, as well as being the University Academic Lead for the hospital and Co-Director of the DHA Paediatric Residency Program. She moved to Canadian Specialist Hospital in 2024 to focus on clinical paediatrics and neonatology.
She has over two decades of experience in both basic and complex cases of varying pathology and severities. She places emphasis on prevention, overall well-being, and active family involvement in the child’s health journey with collaborative education. She remains committed to clinical excellence with mentoring future paediatricians and exploring further innovative paediatric advances.
