Shaylin qualified at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Physiotherapy. After qualifying, Shaylin worked at the largest hospital in Africa, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, where she gained vast experience in treating both adult and paediatric patients that were in hospital, as well as outpatients. After this, Shaylin worked with adults in a private hospital until she decided to follow her heart in paediatrics. She then worked in a special school in South Africa where she obtained her MAES therapist certification and went on to work in a private setting, still seeing paediatrics. She has worked across all areas of paediatrics, including inpatient and outpatient clinics, with most of Shaylin’s postgraduate training being focused on paediatric neurology physiotherapy.
