- Dr Omar Alatragchi is a British-trained Family Medicine Consultant who graduated from Al-Mustansiriyah Medical School in Baghdad, Iraq, before moving to the United Kingdom, where he has been in continuous medical practice since 2006.
He worked as a Family Medicine physician in the UK for Seven years prior to relocating to the UAE in 2019, providing comprehensive care in both clinic and community settings. His experience includes managing acute presentations, long-term medical conditions, preventive health, and continuity of care across all adult age groups.
Dr Omar has a special interest in Type 2 Diabetes management in primary care and holds an accredited postgraduate qualification from Teesside University (UK) in managing people living with Type 2 Diabetes. He also regularly manages Cardiovascular disease ( like hypertension and high Cholesterol ) , and Respiratory diseases ( Like asthma and other chronic respiratory disease), and other long-term conditions.
In addition, Dr Omar offers structured consultations for weight management, including lifestyle-based approaches and medical management with weight-loss injections, where clinically appropriate and in line with international guidelines. He takes a safe, individualized, and evidence-based approach to weight reduction and metabolic health.
Dr Omar also supports patients with mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress-related conditions, and sleep-related issues, recognizing the close link between physical and psychological wellbeing.
Since 2019, Dr Omar has been practicing in the UAE and is currently working with Mediclinic, delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care tailored to individual needs. He is fully licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), England. He is committed to ongoing professional development and keeping his practice aligned with the latest clinical guidance.
