Dr. Waldo Joins Mediclinic from Stanford University School of Medicine where he served a distinguished career that spanned 19 years as Professor of Surgery. He was Chief of Clinical Transplantation and Chief of Paediatric Kidney Transplantation. Stanford Paediatric Kidney Transplant Program under his leadership was the largest in the United States with the best outcomes. He brought innovation and clinical excellence to this program as well as the creation of a large network of referrals through many states and countries abroad. Prior to his tenure at Stanford University, he was Director of the Transplantation Institute at Loma Linda University, a premier multiorgan transplant program in Southern California. He was a Co-Founder of the Paediatric Transplantation programs at Pacific Presbyterian Hospital in San Francisco, California. He was honoured with awards for Physician of the Year 2017 by the American Liver Foundation, and Distinguished Physician by Stanford Children's Lucile Packard Hospital, as aell as other awards. He received his Transplantation Fellowship under Dr. Thomas Starzl, world pioneer in organ transplantation, at the University of Pittsburgh. He brings to Medicinic City Hospital, 33 years of experience in paediatric Llver and kidney transplantation and in paediatric liver tumours and kidney surgery.
