Dr. Abdelghany earned his medical degree from Cairo University Faculty of Medicine, Cairo, Egypt. He trained in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Maadi Military Hospital, and Cairo University Hospitals in Cairo, Egypt.
Following this experience, Dr. Abdelghany moved to the USA and trained at Temple University/ Memorial Medical Center, PA., USA as an internal medicine resident. He subsequently pursued additional training in general cardiology as a fellow at the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, N.Y., USA. He was then selected as a peripheral vascular interventional fellow at the prestigious Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA, where he trained under the world-renowned Dr. Carlos Mena and Dr. Robert Attaran. He was in practice for two years as a cardiologist and vascular interventionist at University of Massachusetts/ Baystate Medical Center and Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA before accepting a final fellowship in cardiology and structural interventions at Boston University Medical Center, in Boston, MA, USA.
Dr. Abdelghany joined the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, USA in 2022 after completing his fellowship in Boston, where he practiced as an interventional cardiologist and endovascular interventionist. He also served as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. In 2024, Dr. Abdelghany joined Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Staff in NJ, USA, where he served as a clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, engaging in treating patients and teaching medical students.

Currently, Dr. Abdelghany works with a group of eminent national and international physicians to set guidelines for the treatment of peripheral vascular diseases.

Throughout his medical profession, Dr. Abdelghany received numerous awards including best overall resident, best scholarly achievement and best medicine educator from Temple University, Memorial Medical Center in PA, USA. He was again awarded the researcher of the year from SUNY Upstate Medical University. He served as the Editor for the American College of Cardiology, Peripheral Vascular Section, FIT section, and a Judge for the national research symposium of the American Medical Association.
