Dr. Muhammad Arif as a British trained, tier one consultant Respiratory and General Internal Medicine. Prior to joining Mediclinic, he was a consultant pulmonologist for SEHA, Abu Dhabi, at Al Ain Hospital, where apart from his clinical work, he was actively involved in teaching medical students, interns, residents, GPs and specialists. He is assistant Professor (adjunct) at UAE University department of Medicine. He is also a core faculty member and chair of competency committee for IM Residents at Al Ain Hospital and an examiner for MRCP(PACES) UK.

Previously he worked as a lead consultant physician (substantive post) in respiratory and general (internal) medicine at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, UK, from 2012 until 2015. His main interests are thoracic oncology, bronchiectasis, pulmonary infections especially tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections, pleural diseases and interventional procedures. He is competent at performing bronchoscopies (diagnostic) pleural ultrasounds medical thoracoscopies and non-invasive ventilation.

He is committed to providing a high quality, innovative and well organised service in respiratory medicine and general medicine.
