Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Mediclinic City Hospital’s state-of-the-art paediatric intensive care unit houses six beds and provides specialised care around the clock to critically ill children. It serves paediatric patients suffering from life threatening conditions such as respiratory distress, seizures, coma, serious infections, asthma, pneumonia and accidental poisoning, as well as those who have undergone complex paediatric surgical procedures.

Under the leadership of Dr Helen Strike, a UK trained Consultant Paediatric Intensivist, the PICU is staffed by an internationally trained team of paediatric intensivist hospitalists, paediatric intensive care nurses and paediatric subspecialists such as a paediatric cardiologist, paediatric pulmonologist, paediatric infectious disease specialist and paediatric neurologist.
