What is Primary Care?

Primary care is your first point of contact for any health concerns you have. Our primary care services at Mediclinic, including general practice and family medicine, go beyond symptomatic relief to focus on your overall wellness, ensuring a seamless care experience from beginning to end.

What is the IFHAS programme?

The IFHAS programme is a health screening initiative launched by Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) to help individuals detect chronic diseases and cancers early and manage their health more effectively. This periodic comprehensive screening programme is designed to enhance quality of life for residents across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by focusing on prevention and early intervention. It encourages adults to undergo comprehensive health screening through their family medicine or primary care physicians.

Why regular health screening matters?

Regular screening allows conditions to be identified and treated before they become more serious. Through IFHAS, patients benefit from structured check-ups that build a clear picture of long-term health and wellbeing. The initiative promotes early detection, timely follow-up and improved patient engagement with their care.

Who should attend IFHAS health screening?

All Emirati adults aged 18 to 75 with Thiqa insurance are required to complete IFHAS screening for policy renewal. Screenings are carried out at Mediclinic’s primary care clinics and hospitals, where family medicine and general practice teams provide coordinated care before, during and after the appointment.
