Summary
Dr Karema Helal has more than 20 years’ experience as a Senior Specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist. Prior to joining Mediclinic, she worked in the Maternal and Fetal Medicine department at Al Ain Hospital and Tawam Hospital from 2001.
Dr Karema successfully completed the training and examination for the American registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Fetal Echocardiography in March 2017. She is an expert in obstetrics and gynaecological cases including management of different problems of pregnancy, medical problems with pregnancy, performing different gynaecological operations, normal and abnormal vaginal delivery, postpartum problems, advising different types of contraception and family planning. She also performs both obstetric and gynaecological scans.
Dr Karema also performs dating and NT scans, 18-22 week anomaly scans, uterine, umbilical, middle cerebral artery and venous Doppler studies, fetal echocardiography and growth scans. She manages all high risk pregnancy and performing procedures as amniocentesis and CVS, in addition to genetic counselling.
