Use sunscreen
The use of sunscreen helps protect the skin from damage and potential harmful effects on health from direct exposure to sunlight, especially dryness. Make sure to repeat the application every two hours to ensure the best results.
Drinking water
You cannot achieve desired results if the body lacks hydration from the inside, or more precisely, if you do not get enough water. Eight glasses of water per day can maintain the moisture balance of the body and skin, and also helps in detoxification.
Moisturising the skin
It is very important to moisturise the skin continuously, through several methods:
- Use suitable types of moisturising lotion for the skin.
- Use moisturising creams for the skin to prevent exposure to dryness.
Don't forget lip protection in summer: Exfoliate gently, regular moisturisation, lip balm with SPF is a must.
Skin peeling
Exfoliating the skin helps maintain the freshness of the skin, by getting rid of dead skin, but we do not recommend deep exfoliation of the skin during the summer period, Natural recipes can be used for exfoliation.
Health Diet
Healthy diet plays a major role in protecting your skin from environmental damage in the summer, especially if it is rich in fruits such as watermelon, mango and berries. They contain essential vitamins, minerals, nutrients and antioxidants to protect the skin and maintain moisture within the skin.
Stay away from soft drinks and caffeine.
Soft drinks are full of sugar that is not good for your skin so try to replace them by drinking water, fresh lemon, fresh fruit juices, or coconut water to keep your skin hydrated. During the summer, avoid consuming caffeine as much as possible, and replace it with nutritious juices.
Perfumes
Do not use perfumes on your skin directly before going out into the sun, because they interact with the sun's rays and may cause burns to the skin. Therefore, it is preferable to put perfume on clothes before wearing them, so as not to touch your skin directly.
Use shampoo after swimming
There are significant changes in hair coloor and protein that may occur due to chlorine in swimming pools and ultraviolet rays from the sun. Using your regular shampoo after swimming can help reduce hair damage from chlorinated water.
Repair your skin after sun damage
If you have been extra careful, probably summer hasn’t damaged your skin too much. Usually, after summer, we find out that our complexion is uneven and the skin drier than normal. So, autumn is a great time to go for a facial, renew your skin and fade those dark spots.
Avoid heavy makeup
Humidity and heat also impact the skin’s ability to breathe. Instead of heavy foundation and other cosmetics, you could consider using a tinted moisturiser if you need to wear some makeup.
Use a good toner
A good toner can be effective in closing open pores. The maximum number of glands are found on the T-zone of the face. To prevent sweat and oil from clogging these pores, use an aloe vera or cucumber-based toner as they are lighter.
Mole examination
It is recommended to visit your dermatologist and get a full-body exam. Your doctor will examine your moles and marks and see how they evolve over time, so you will know how careful you should be with sun exposure, according to your specific skin condition. Knowing that you are melanoma-free will make you feel safer and enjoy the summer more. Moreover, keeping those moles in check will prevent having problems in this regard in the future.
