Malaffi (Arabic for ‘my file’) was established as part of the visionary strategic priorities of the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DOH) and is the first system of its kind in the Middle East.
What does this mean?
During your visit, our clinicians (doctors, nurses and others) can access your unified medical record that contains your most important medical information saved by other Malaffi connected providers that you have previously visited in Abu Dhabi.
What type of information does my Malaffi file include?
Your Malaffi file includes important information about your allergies, previous diagnoses, problems, medical encounters, laboratory and radiology tests, as well as medication information.
How does Malaffi help my providers take better care of my health?
- Access to this information is important for your clinician to make a faster and more accurate diagnosis and other decisions, which can be lifesaving, especially in an emergency and during a pandemic, like COVID-19.
- Your visit to the doctor becomes a better experience, as you don’t have to bring your paper reports. Our clinicians exchange your medical information with the other providers digitally through Malaffi to better coordinate your care.
- You also don’t need to repeat laboratory and radiology tests without reason. This is especially important if you have a chronic condition or frequently need to see multiple clinicians outside of our organisation.
- Having access to Malaffi reduces the risk of preventable medical and medication errors that might occur due to lack of information, and for that reason, we can provide safer care to you as a patient.
How secure is my data in Malaffi?

All Malaffi connected healthcare facilities abide by Malaffi’s privacy and security policies and comply with Abu Dhabi laws. Will I have access to my file in Malaffi?
Yes, Malaffi will soon launch a patient portal and mobile application that will allow you to access your file in Malaffi anytime and anywhere, empowering you to manage your health better.
